BIG BANG BIG BOOM

This short film, titled Big Bang Big Boom, is a product of creative minds and a lot of patience (in my opinion). Recommended to me by a friend (so I can't take too much credit for this), this film is an unscientific point of view on the evolution of life. Created by an Italian artist Blu, whose identity is not revealed which is always a cool element. The work speaks for itself, yet again.
I'm not going to go through all his history, which you can find on wikipedia. But as a little background information, I guess it can be fun to know that he started off with spray paint and later moved on to house paint to be able to create larger pieces. Apparently his work can be seen all over the world. Thus, I should stop being lame by missing amazing artists' works when being abroad and actually see some of them this summer.

I LOVE BRUSSE

To broadly continue along the line of street art, here is an excellent  Belgian artist (btw, born in -77). And as you can see his work is all about love. Which is absolutely the best subject for art and that definitely shows in his work. The pictures are from his projects called Streetlove and  Love Injections and also from some canvas work. I don't really know what to say about him, since his work obviously speaks for everything I want to say. Thus, I would encourage you to read his bio, because it's simply fucking funny! In the words of Wooster Collective, every girl should have a romantic guy like him. Lucky me. Enjoy this little dose of lovely street art.

Streetlove is about creating and interaction between people and love represented by objects, words or paintings on the streets, in order to make people think and rethink their relationships, their own situation and love itself.

N.MOUNT more awesome with every lecture

The last lecture for English 140 is over now *tear*. Against all assumptions of it concentrating on the final exam, our professor instead talked a bit about graffiti and more about street art. I honestly did not see that coming. It was amazing! I can't wait to get K here and drag him to one of those lectures.
Since professor Mount has been following that whole scene for a while, he introduced a lot of new names and tied the themes of certain pieces nicely to what we've been discussing in lectures over the whole year (homelessness, loss and search for identity, fast-paced culture, beauty, etc.). It was just a perfect ending to that class. I feel motivated (yet again) and because of that I just had to share couple of thoughts about it.
Oh, and I saw that cute stencil of a child on a wall nearby TIFF Bell Lightbox and thought I should put it up here. Unfortunately I do not know who the artist is, so if anyone has an idea I would love to know.
