N.MOUNT more awesome with every lecture

The last lecture for English 140 is over now *tear*. Against all assumptions of it concentrating on the final exam, our professor instead talked a bit about graffiti and more about street art. I honestly did not see that coming. It was amazing! I can't wait to get K here and drag him to one of those lectures.
Since professor Mount has been following that whole scene for a while, he introduced a lot of new names and tied the themes of certain pieces nicely to what we've been discussing in lectures over the whole year (homelessness, loss and search for identity, fast-paced culture, beauty, etc.). It was just a perfect ending to that class. I feel motivated (yet again) and because of that I just had to share couple of thoughts about it.
Oh, and I saw that cute stencil of a child on a wall nearby TIFF Bell Lightbox and thought I should put it up here. Unfortunately I do not know who the artist is, so if anyone has an idea I would love to know.

Red Bull's Electropedia: Whatever! and something pretty unrelated to that about a cool camera

Yesterday was a long day with a lot of music. This city has something lightly hipster around it but they're nice and they listen to good music. People actually raving on Joy Division, Ramones, Pixies,  Stone Roses, Primal Scream, A Tribe Called Quest, M.IA. ... actually each song was a cult hit somehow, mixed by a couple of great dj's. oh, and now that I found a link for that party that says it was organized by Muziekodroom (Hasselt music thing place, god I still need to catch up on my sleep enormously) and Red Bull's Electropedia. I've been hearing about the Electropedia shows for a long time and now I see why, they actually did throw a great party yesterday.
Aaaah, and here's a video. I started this post completely unprepared and it's a mess, believe me I know.

Also, let my dance moves of last night stay undiscussed for now, and check this song I heard during the pre-chilling at my place before the gig (of course).  I found it in a video of a series of great promotional videos by GoPro HD (do check them in the highest resolution). They're always filmed really good and I actually wanna do all the sports you see in their clips. Also the video quality and the music is amazing every time. Check it out (in 1080, believe me):

Sometimes, there is something in the night that provides one with inspiration. Sometimes, the things produced, after my fingers have tapped the keyboard in what seemed to be an aimless way, don't seem that bad. Sometimes, I believe all our dreams will come true when we will learn to make the perfect combinations from the given elements. Sometimes...

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS? REVEAL YOURSELF, TINY SONGSTRESS!

Oooh yes yes yes. This looks amazing accompanied by an amazing cast! Darks Shadows directed by (surprise, surprise) Tim Burton. The film is set to be out somewhere in May, so until then we'll have to do with a trailer. Enjoy.

Максим Емельянов

Looking again, after such a long break, to good, ol' Dazed&Confused makes me feel good because it is simply impossible to go to their site and not find something intriguing, beautiful, experimental.
And here we go with this Russian photographer. I don't know how to approach these photographs from his project titled Crimea Burning. They are absolutely stunning and there is something, I would say magical if that wouldn't be such a vague word, but spiritual would come a bit closer. One can almost read that spirituality between the lines of Maxim's interview. This is obviously my first impression of this artist but I instantly felt like there is much more layers to his work than the ones our eyes are able to capture. I like the concept of connecting individual things with a bigger something.

"It just happens. Or not happens.
I like long processes with surprising results.
Jump in your hollow, my friend. Show
me your waste. Hold on. Take time.
You can't waste it, just be focused.
You can't stop - all you got is now."

;) don’t click

... HAHAHAHAHA. I feel like he looks Belgian... Maybe it's just me, yeah, probably just me. YET, HAHAHAHA. Oh, that hurt because it is true. (I'm disliking the fact that I had a fake coffee twelve hours ago).

BALMAIN FW 12/13

Ah, it has been so long. Too long since I last posted something fashion related. I have to get back there because sometimes something very beautiful emerges from that world in a form of a collection or a short film or an editorial.
However, to star things off, here is Balmain's video for Fall-Winter 12/13. Apparently it is inspired by late 50's and early 60's French and Italian films. I must say I really like that touch. The black and white works as always and the whole setting is comfortably simple. Ah, and the music is perfect because it adds a very longing and almost seductive tone to the video (yes, I love using vague words). I do feel that, for some reason, I would've preferred to see a blond girl in this video. I'm not sure why but in my head that would've worked. However, I love to see Adrien Sahores still looking stunning!

SWEET BABY, I NEED FRESH BLOOD

Okay, this is more my kind of video. I must say that the red colour adds a dimension to the whole video that simply makes it work. However, I don't like the ending with the swimming pool scene. It doesn't make sense to me thus I shall give this video 7 out of 10 (the comical stalker definitely brings an additional point to that grading). No, what the hell am I doing, grading music videos on my blog? I don't even know why I'm posting so many videos but it's okay (it is justified by an unnecessary cup of "coffee" and a late hour because 23:03 is indeed late for me).
As hard as it is I will try to move forward with my text and say that True Blood's soundtrack has some really good music and this is where I happened to hear Eels's Fresh Blood. So, if you're up for some chill music you can always check True Blood out.

Calling All The Crows

I did not know that the free songs on Tap Tap could have something good to offer. Yes, I realize it looks as if I don't have a life but I'm sure it is somewhere between the addiction to Tetris and this newly discovered game... Anyhow, take a listen and you might like it. I don't really know what is it about the song but the first thought that comes to my mind is some sort of a rhythm in it that makes me feel like I have an association with it... I just have no idea what's the association. Night-blabbering taking over...
Also, I was going to post the original music video but there was something about it that made me not become too enthusiastic about it, thus I'm posting this live performance. I realize the singer looks scary... Heh.

InK

And then I wake up, all of a sudden. I'm in my bed, fell asleep with my laptop open running skype, and despite the distance she's right there. She fell asleep as well and I realize (again) this is the most beautiful girl in the world. The waiting is not over yet but it will be one day, and I'll never let you go again. No more airport goodbyes, no more sorrowful  last nights.
Let's be together, it feels fucking good.
